Training Day Closure
Our Nursery and Playgroup will be closed on Friday 28th April 2023 for a Training Day. It is May Day Bank Holiday on Monday 1st May when our setting will be closed. We will open again on Tuesday 2nd May 2023.
Daffodil Challenge - Easter Break 2023
Thank you to all of the children, parents/carers and wider family members who took part in our Daffodil Challenge over the Easter Break. We have lots and lots of wonderful daffodil designs, collage, pictures, photos and sculptures that you have all made for us to celebrate spring. We will display every daffodil creation in our main foyer outside Mrs. Grant's room as soon as we can. Please pop in to see it when it is finished. If you haven't had time to complete our Daffodil challenge yet or have not had a chance to return your creations, there is still time so please send them in when you can. If you have not managed to create a daffodil at home with your child and need some help with ideas or resources, then please speak to your child's keyworker and we will help you.
Every child who takes part in the Daffodil Challenge, will be rewarded with a certificate and sticker. We will be giving these out soon. We will photograph the creation and certificate and put it in to your child's Learning Journal too.
King Charles III Coronation Parties at Monkchester
We will be celebrating King Charles III coronation in Nursery on Friday 5th May 2023. We will have a coronation party and children can wear their own clothes or dress in red, white and blue. Alternatively if the children would like to dress up as a King, Queen, Prince or Princess (or any member of Royalty) they can do this as well. If children prefer to come in their usual uniform that is fine too. If parents/carers need any help with dressing up costumes then please speak to your child's keyworker and we will help. As with all of our special events, there is no charge for this activity and it is FREE to everyone. We will provide Coronation Party food for this event too - free for all children, so there is no need to bring a packed lunch or pay for a school meal on this day.
Playgroup children will also celebrate this special event during their sessions and staff will be in touch soon to let you know the day/days/sessions when each group will celebrate the coronation.
Monkchester Nursery School and Playgroup will be closed on Monday 19th September 2022. This closure is due to the Bank Holiday granted for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. We will open at our usual times on Tuesday 20th September 2022. Thank you for your understanding at this sad time for the country. Anne Humble - Headteacher
There is an amber warning out from the Met office for increased temperatures from Sunday 17th to Tuesday 19th July.
We are taking additional measures in Nursery and Playgroup to keep children cool including using shade. ventilation, avoiding playing out at midday, wearing sun hats and water breaks where everyone will stop for a drink.
Please ensure your child has sunscreen on and wears light, loose clothing over those two days in nursery and playgroup.
If your child has a sun hat or cap please allow them to wear it for nursery/playgroup. Please put their name inside so we know who it belongs to.
Many thanks
Ms Humble
